I have women contact me regularly struggling with fatigue, depression, mood swings, hot flashes, increased abdominal fat or decreased libido as they shift into the menopause phase of life. Menopause is the transition that marks the end of a woman’s fertility, which typically occurs around the late 40’s or early 50’s. This natural hormonal change is not something a woman should be afraid of, as it is simply a transition.

This physical change can be difficult for some to handle, as symptoms may include vaginal dryness, decreased sexual drive, brittle nails, lackluster hair, as well as susceptibility to diseases like breast cancer, osteoporosis and hypertension. These conditions may cause stress and anxiety. On the other hand, many women seem to breeze right through menopause.

Here is a list of 7 ways that can help a woman not only survive menopause, but handle menopause with ease.

Avoid EMF radiation.

Dr. Elizabeth Plourde has compiled extensive research which shows that electromagnetic field radiation (EMF) can affect your hormones so dramatically that you feel like you are in menopause, but you are not. EMF’s can make your skin feel very hot, like a hot flash. EMF’s can cause you to have irregular heartbeats, lack of oxygen in the blood, brain fog, and fatigue.

Here are some things I recommend to help you cut down on EMF exposure.

Make sure you don’t have a smart meter on your home.

Turn off your wifi at night, or if possible, have your home wired with fiber optics instead of wifi. (This is called ethernet wiring, which has the ability to use both wired and fiber cables to connect to the internet.)

Install EMF protection in your home and on your devices, so they don’t affect you so negatively. (Here are a few of the companies that make devices to use on your body, cell phone, and computer.

I use these companies for EMF protection products: Defender Shield and Blushield.

2. Eat a well-balanced diet.

Here are some foods that will help add phytoestrogen to the body. This is one of the main hormones that becomes unbalanced during menopause. It is important to choose organic foods, because they will have optimum health benefits.

Flaxseeds and flaxseed oil are rich in phytoestrogens. Flaxseeds also contain omega 3 fatty acids, which are essential fatty acids that we must get from a food source, since our body doesn’t make them naturally. (Omega 3’s are anti-inflammatory, and most people don’t have enough of these in their diet.)

Sprouted sesame seeds and whole sprouted grains, like oats, barley, rye and wheat, are all great choices containing phytoestrogens. The process of sprouting these seeds and grains removes the unhealthy phytic acid, which prevents the body from absorbing necessary nutrients.

Unsulfured, unsweetened dried apricots

Unsulfured, unsweetened dried dates and prunes

Hummus

Also, choose an eating plan high in organic fresh fruits, vegetables, and other plant-based foods, which include: celery (which has a calming effect on the nerves), cucumber, fresh parsley, broccoli sprouts, and probiotic-rich foods like garlic. Locally grown, organic, non-GMO, and “ripened on the vine or tree” fruits and vegetables are optimum choices.

Avoid soy and soy products that aren’t both organic and fermented. They are promoted as being natural sources of estrogen, but they are very hard on the body and extremely high in goitrogens – substances that are known to suppress thyroid function and actually promote hypothyroidism. (a) Unfermented soy is also high in phytic acid and can keep the body from absorbing other essential nutrients like calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, zinc and particularly protein. (b)

3. Take Care Of Your Thyroid

The thyroid is the master gland which controls almost every system of the body, including the heart, GI tract, and weight, as well as sleep, mood, and the growth of hair, skin, and nails.

4. Vitamin D

It is imperative to have adequate amounts of Vitamin D, as well as other vitamins. Vitamin D is paramount to optimum health, and we need more of it as we age or if you have darker pigmented skin.
5. Acupuncture and Homeopathy

Acupuncture and Homeopathy have both been shown to have very positive effects on menopause.

6. Exercise

Exercise (and sweating) is good for the body, as it helps release toxins and other harmful elements in the body. It helps promote proper blood circulation and joint stability. Exercise is especially needed during menopause to help combat the diseases associated with menopause. Common weight gain, which can be a result of perimenopause, (the time right before menopause), is often misdiagnosed, and is one of the first signs of hormonal imbalance. Many women want to have their hormones balanced to help with some of the symptoms they are experiencing.

7. Phototherapy Technology.

Phototherapy is a fairly new holistic, drug & side-effect-free technology product that has helped me with so many of my health challenges. Lifewave makes an X39 patch that activates the copper peptide GHK-cu, that then activates the stem cells.

In conclusion, relax!

Menopause is not an emergency situation,
and with the proper knowledge, you will be able to breeze through it successfully.

Always remember to pamper yourself.

If you start to feel down, have a relaxing massage or spend some time in nature. Surround yourself with friends who are going through this same process or ones who’ve already experienced it.

These are the best ways to help relieve the stress that is felt, especially when you are adjusting to this new wonderful chapter of your life.

Sharing your experiences of menopause with friends or family can be very comforting. You may find yourself laughing at the whole situation, which is very healing in itself.

With the right knowledge and optimistic attitude, a woman can navigate through menopause with success and ease.

Millions of women can experience fatigue, depression, mood swings, hot flashes, increased abdominal fat or decreased libido as they shift into the menopause phase of life. Menopause is the transition that marks the end of a woman’s fertility, which typically occurs around the late 40’s or early 50’s. Some women go through it when they have a hysterectomy. This natural hormonal change is not something a woman should be afraid of, as it is simply a transition.

This physical change can be difficult for some to handle as symptoms may include vaginal dryness, thin wrinkly skin, decreased sexual drive, brittle nails, dull and thinning hair, as well as susceptibility to diseases like breast cancer, osteoporosis, and hypertension, which may cause stress and anxiety. The good news is,
I have found some supplements and non-transdermal patches that can help with these changes.

Menopause is not an emergency situation though, and with my list of the following suggestions, a woman can not only survive menopause, but may also be able to breeze through it with finesse!

Eat a well-balanced, plant-based diet. Organic fresh fruits and vegetables are a part of a healthy diet, but make sure you include: fresh herbs (ex. parsley, oregano, thyme), fresh vegetables (ex. celery, cucumber, onions, garlic, broccoli, leafy greens, root vegetables, microgreens), sprouted nuts (ex. walnuts and pine nuts), whole, sprouted seeds (ex. pumpkin, sesame, sunflower), whole, sprouted grains (ex. oats, barley, rye and teff), unsulfured, unsweetened dried or fresh fruits (always in their whole form), and sprouted beans and legumes. With this healthy diet plan, avoid all non-fermented soy food products, and genetically modified foods of all varieties.

Drink plenty of high-quality water and avoid chlorinated and fluoridated tap water.

It is imperative to have adequate amounts of Vitamin D, as well as other nutrients (for example: minerals and vitamins: C, B’s, Iodine, zinc, selenium, magnesium). Vitamin D is paramount to optimum health and we need more of it as we age. 7000 IU’s is recommended daily.
Make sure you are getting at least one drop of iodine a day (avoid white iodized salt, it’s toxic). Iodine supplementation is critical to overall health and well-being.

Acupuncture, reflexology, and homeopathy have been shown to have very positive effects on menopause. I am using patches on the body to activate my own copper GHK-Copper peptide using crystals embedded in the patches, which works on the body’s meridians. This technology can help in many ways.

Exercise is good for the body, as it help release toxins and other harmful elements from the body.

Common weight gain, which can be a result of perimenopause (the time right before menopause) is often misdiagnosed and is one of the first signs of hormonal imbalance. Avoiding all types of fructose or high fructose sugar (ex: HFS or agave syrup or agave nectar) can help with this common problem. Taking this supplement, myomin, helps adjust hormone levels holistically.

Take a supplement that helps reduce oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is related to many diseases as we age. To list a few: Metabolic Disorders, Cardiovascular, Infectious Disease, Inflammation, M S., COPD, Diabetic Nephropathy, Psoriasis, Type 2 Diabetes, Age Related Macular Degeneration, Dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, Aspiration Pneumonitis, Brain Ischemia, Breast Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Fibromyalgia, Huntington Disease, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Hypertension, Metastatic Melanoma, Mitochondrial Diseases, Nephropathy, Neuro Muscular Disorders, Neuroblastoma, Neurodegenerative Diseases, NAF Liver Disease, Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Ovarian Cancer, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Radiation Toxicity. I take one that can reduce oxidative stress by 40% in 30 days.

Relax, and never forget to pamper yourself. If you start to feel down, have a relaxing massage or spend some time in nature.

Something new and different, which I personally am using for myself, is a new frequency technology and I’ve had some really good results and so have my clients who have tried them. (I call it Youth-ing instead of aging!)
No supplements, no swallowing, no negative side effects, and extremely powerful for animals! Approved for Olympic athletes.

They works on our infrared energy in our body and works like acupuncture does on meridians. The patches have crystals in them, that reflect our infrared energy and activate our own GHK copper peptide.

Millions of women can experience fatigue, depression, mood swings, hot flashes, increased abdominal fat or decreased libido as they shift into the menopause phase of life. This article will expand on 7 optimum health strategies for breezing through menopause with finesse!

Menopause is the transition that marks the end of a woman’s fertility, which typically occurs around the late 40’s or early 50’s. Some women go through it when they have a hysterectomy. This natural hormonal change is not something a woman should be afraid of, as it is simply a transition.

(You can watch me discuss natural remedies to help with menopause symptoms with Lisa Pineiro on The Broadcast, KTXD – TV if you click this link.)

This physical change can be difficult for some to handle as symptoms may include vaginal dryness, decreased sexual drive, brittle nails, lackluster hair, as well as susceptibility to diseases like breast cancer, osteoporosis and hypertension, which may cause stress and anxiety. Many other women breeze through menopause.

Here is a list of ways that help a woman not only survive menopause, but handle menopause with finesse!

Eat a well-balanced diet. (I’m sixty and I have never had any menopause symptoms, even though I had a hysterectomy in my forties. I think it is because I am a vegetarian and have eaten mostly organic food for the last 27 years.) I feel diet is a major factor in moving through this transition easily.

Have an eating plan high in organic fresh fruits, vegetables and other plant based foods, which include: fresh parsley, celery, cucumber and garlic. I also make sure to include: walnuts; freshly ground flaxseeds; whole, sprouted seeds; whole, sprouted grains (like oats, barley, rye and teff); unsulfured, unsweetened dried apricots; unsulfured, unsweetened dried dates and prunes; and hummus (many varieties). I also avoid soy products of all varieties.

A simple traditional menopause recipe is a delicious black bean broth –

Recipe: Soak one cup of organic black beans in pure non-chlorinated, non-fluoridated water for 18 hours (to make them more digestible.) Pour off the water and cook the black beans and 1/2 teaspoon of unrefined sea salt in 5 cups of high quality water for one hour. Drink 1/2 cup of the liquid from this soup mixture 1/2 hour before meals for relief of hot flashes. (1)

Drink plenty of high quality water and avoid chlorinated and fluoridated tap water. Water is a key nutrient to our health. Just because we are drinking a liquid, doesn’t mean it is hydrating. Many illnesses are a result of dehydration. What I do is divide my weight in half and drink that many ounces of water a day, between my meals. I drink a whole glass of water first thing in the morning, before I ever get out of bed. I also drink about 18 ounces of water at least an hour before a meal and again 2 hours after a meal.

It is imperative to have adequate amounts of Vitamin D, as well as other vitamins. Vitamin D is paramount to optimum health and we need more of it as we age. You can have your physician check these in a blood test.

Acupuncture and Homeopathy have both been shown to have very positive effects on menopause.

Exercise is good for the body, as it help release toxins and other harmful elements from the body. It helps promote proper blood circulation and joint stability. Exercise is especially needed during menopause to help combat the diseases associated with menopause.

Common weight gain, which can be a result of perimenopause (the time right before menopause) is often misdiagnosed and is one of the first signs of hormonal imbalance. Keeping your weight normal can be easy. I found that the best way to keep your weight under control is to eat more fresh vegetables and to cut out most foods that contain sugar and refined carbohydrates. Limiting alcohol intake is also very helpful.

Relax! Menopause is not an emergency situation, and with the proper knowledge you will be able to breeze through it successfully. Never forget to pamper yourself. If you start to feel down, have a relaxing massage or spend some time in nature. Surround yourself with friends who are going through this same process or ones who’ve already experienced it.These are the best ways to help relieve stress, which is felt especially when you are adjusting to this new wonderful chapter of your life. Sharing your experiences of menopause with friends or family can be very comforting. You may find yourself laughing at the whole situation, which is very healing in itself.

By Nancy Addison CHC, AADP

For my favorite supplement to help with joint pain relief and restoring cartilage, restoring skin thickness (for all areas of the body- including our private areas), hydration, ligaments, tendons, and help with endurance and recovery: I have used a certain supplement for over 3 years now. I call it my fountain of youth supplement, because it helps me with so many things, including hair thickness, skin health, energy, back pain relief, stronger bones, etc.

To order the supplement: https://www.modere.com/?referralCode=j220555

I take the LIFE blend. It’s a liquid and it’s delicious. I take 2 ounces 2 times a day. I would say to commit to a minimum of 3 months, because all of the clinical trials were done in a three month period.

Natural Aids For Helping Deal

With Symptoms

As A Result Of Menopause

Menopause is not a disease or illness; it is a natural event as a result of hormonal change as we age.

The following are general symptoms of menopause:

Irregular periods

Hot flashes — flushing of face and chest; may be accompanied by heart palpitations, dizziness, headaches

Night sweats

Cold hands and feet

Vaginal dryness

Insomnia

Mood changes — depression, irritability, tension (usually happens with sleep problems)

Gain in abdominal fat

depression

I did a segment on The Broadcast on KTXD-TV about menopause.

Here is the link to watch my (Nancy Addison) segment about Menopause on The Broadcast.

Preventive Care

Eat a well-balanced diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables. Eating a healthy, well balanced diet can help you reduce the risks and discomforts associated with menopause. A diet low in saturated animal fat can help reduce your risk of heart disease by providing the following benefits:

Lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and triglycerides (fats in the blood)

Lower blood pressure

Maintain a healthy weight

Soy- Avoid soy products. Some evidence suggests that eating soy-based foods such as tofu might help reduce certain symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes. I don’t recommend them because eating soy can cause severe thyroid problems.

Get regular exercise– the benefits of exercise include:

Keeping bones strong and warding off osteoporosis through weight bearing exercise, such as walking

Reducing hot flashes

Boosting mood

Enhancing memory and concentration

Lowering cholesterol

Nancy’s Favorite Helpful Supplements

Make sure you have adequate amounts of Omega 3’s and Vitamin D

Text Nancy – 214-202-9243 to discuss your situation.

Mood – 5 HTP and L Theanine

Herbs – Black Cohosh, pycnogenol, red clover and Asian Ginseng- Make sure to check with your doctor before taking herbs. They can interact with medical prescriptions.

Acupuncture

Homeopathic Remedies

Lachesis — hot flashes, irritability

Sepia — low energy, mood swings, vaginal dryness, irritability

Pulsatilla — mood swings, insomnia

Sulfur — hot flashes, irritability
