Thanks a lot for your reply, Nancy!

Can you point me to some studies about the negative health effects of soy? Would love to investigate this a bit more...

About beans, that's for sure! Can't think of a day without them :)

Nuts and seeds are also packed with protein and other essential nutrients PLUS they are delicious and come handy as a perfect snack!

Thank you for that comment. Soy, may have been used as a meat substitute, but really soy that has not been fermented, has never been good for us, whether it's GMO or not. GMO soy is just that much worse.
Try using mushrooms or sprouted, cooked beans as a meat substitute, I think it works really well.

Thanks a lot for this in-depth article!

Some whole grains and pseudo-grains like quinoa, amaranth, and buckwheat definitely deserve a spot on this list, but you already covered so many great sources!

About soy: health claims are very contradicting and I personally think that many negative ones come from the meat industry. Soy was recognized as an amazing meat replacement a long time ago. The meat industry did its best to ruin the reputation of soy and deter people.

Of course, GMO soy is a real problem and I would also recommend avoiding at all costs, but other claims about the innate health dangers of soy seem to be biased.

Thanks again and keep up the great work!
