Parasites Are A Problem For Our Health

parasites are a problem for our health, by Nancy Addison, organic healthy life

When my daughter was in the Peace Corps in Mali Africa, I became acutely aware of the dangers of parasites. I had grown up not knowing about them at all.  When I was young, I rode horses, had pet dogs, cats, chickens, opossums, rabbits, and more.

Neither my doctor nor veterinarian ever mentioned that all these animals can carry parasites and pass them on to me.

When I began to study health and healing on a deeper level, I discovered that parasites are actually a common problem for many people. They are often the cause of many ailments that are frequently said to be “genetic”. This diagnosis makes us feel like we can‘t do anything about it, and it can make us feel powerless if we are challenged with this situation.

I began writing my health and nutrition books/cookbooks to share the knowledge I had learned about actual cures for many ailments using natural Divinely-Given Remedies instead of allopathic pharmaceutical drugs. “Allopathic medicine is the system of medicine in which doctors and other healthcare professionals treat symptoms and diseases using drugs, radiation, or surgery.” I had so many family members and friends dying of diseases using the allopathic medical protocol and pharmaceutical drugs, that I came to the conclusion that “their program”was not working
well at all.

I proceeded to embark on a Holistic Health journey studying nutrition, quality of food, water, environment, and emotional components. I researched the optimal ways to be healthy and to raise my children in this world today, so they could live vibrant, joyful, healthy long lives.

I started researching health and nutrition over 40 years ago, and in doing so, I discovered the work of Dr. Gordo Crozier DO. According to Dr. Crozier, an integrative physician in Orlando, more than 60 million people in the USA are infected with parasites.

“Because parasites are spread by pets, contaminated water and improperly handled food, they’re becoming an increasingly common health threat in the U.S.” (1)

I decided to look into this and add this information into my books. Unbelievably the book publishers would not publish my books unless I removed this vital research and information regarding parasites and detoxification. Knowing that these facts and remedies were some of the most important information in my books, I decided to protect my work and self-publish so that I could stay in control of this vital information affecting our health.

Would you be shocked or surprised to hear that I have learned that many health challenges today, including diarrhea, constipation, irritable bowel, cramps, bloating, malabsorption, mucus, fatigue, nausea, skin rash, dry cough, lymph blockage, allergies, joint pain, brain fog, memory loss, dermatitis, headaches, floaters in the eye, MS, and even cancer can actually be a result of parasites?

In just the past two years, I have been learned from countless doctors that many of our everyday common health complaints could actually be parasites and toxic overload in the body.

How can that be? I have learned from the CDC’s website that the US municipal tap water has feces in it. Feces have parasites In them. In a brochure that you can get at your veterinarians office called “Parasites and You”, it contains a graph of all known parasites that can transfer from your pet to you.

We can also obtain parasites from other things, such as ingesting dirt particles that are not completely washed off of food, eating meat, walking barefoot outdoors, traveling in other countries, drinking tap water, and swimming in lakes or ponds.

Yet, I have been told that Medical Doctors are taught in Medical School that parasites are a third world problem, and that they don’t exist in America. The parasite tests that the Medical Doctors do with Lab Corp and Quest are called comprehensive tests, yet they only test for 1 type of parasite, the protozoa, even though there are around 40 various types that are known to exist in North America.

If you want to find out if you have parasites, you can get a comprehensive test from the Parasitology Center, (PCI) in Scottsdale, Arizona. PCI Wellness, link: https://pciwellness.com/ref/84/

The PCI Wellness parasite cleanse protocol is the one I do, twice a year. I do it because I have pets and do things where I know I am exposed to parasites. Dr. Ardis recommends this parasite cleanse as well.

According to Dr. David Jockers, the eggs of these parasites hatch during full moons, so he has a full moon parasite cleansing protocol. (2)

What are Parasites?

“A parasite is a living organism that lives off of another living organism, which is called a “host.” There are three basic classes of these organisms”, according to Dr. Jockers. (3)

  • “Protozoa: These parasites are single-cell microscopic organisms that can multiply or divide within the host. They are transmitted from person to person through fecal matter, blood, or insect bites. An example is the parasite Plasmodium, which causes malaria.

  • Helminths: These are worm parasites. They are larger, multi-celled organisms that may be visible to the naked eye. Examples are roundworms, pinworms, trichina spiralis, tapeworms, and flukes. It is estimated that half of the world’s population (over 3 billion people) is infected with at least one of three worms: roundworm, hookworm, or whipworm (4).

  • Ectoparasites: These live on (rather than in) their hosts. Ectoparasites are also described as “blood-sucking arthropods.” Examples are lice, bed bugs, and fleas.” (5)

In the US, parasites are often misdiagnosed or undiagnosed. But I have learned over the years that many of the “diseases” people are diagnosed with can actually be caused by parasites. In fact, according to Columbia University parasitologist Dickson Despommier, “About half the world’s population (over 3 billion people) are infected with at least one of the three worms forming what he calls the “unholy trinity”—large roundworm, hookworm and whipworm. (6)

Dr. Bryan Ardis was on my radio/TV show a few times in the past year, and he said that if you have a pet, then you have parasites.

He mentioned this as he was expanding on how he believes MS could actually be caused by parasites in the brain. (7) The Rocky Mountain Lab conducted autopsies on people who died of MS and found parasites in the tissues of the brain and spinal fluid of all of them.

Dr. Lee Merritt has done some video interviews and shows concerning her understanding that most cancers are actually parasites and parasite eggs. She said she was taught in medical school that “there really wasn’t a parasite problem in people in the US.” (8)

There is a problem, and Dr. Merritt believes there is a lack of education for health care providers on this subject and health challenge. In one of her recent videos, she addressed the parasite/cancer situation: “Cancer is Parasites, the Scientific Evidence, and What to Do About it.” (9)

In this video, she stated that “They have known that Cancer is caused by parasites since 1906. A Nobel Prize was given for this discovery then covered up.” (10) She goes on to say that symptoms caused by parasitic infections are usually misdiagnosed because they are similar to many common ailments.

Some of these examples are:

A peptic ulcer may actually be a roundworm infection. Diabetes and Hypoglycemia can be a result of tapeworms.

Parasites could be the cause of health challenges like chronic fatigue, hypothyroidism, type 1 diabetes (T1D), multiple sclerosis (MS), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and Crohn’s disease.

I have come to the conclusion, after speaking with many doctors and doing a lot of research, that parasites mainly feed on sugar, toxins, heavy metals, (including mercury), and red blood cells. (We can get mercury from the new energy saving lightbulbs, skin care products, dental fillings, vaccines, fish, and tap water.)

Unfortunately, parasites also feed on the essential nutrients in our body. They deplete their host (human, animal, fowl, fish) of nutrition, while at the same time excreting toxins, adding to a toxic overload in the body. I understand from my research that we, in the US, are living in a pretty toxic-saturated environment. Typically, we can be exposed to approximately 40 to 400 chemicals a day from air, water, food, cleaning fluids, fire retardants, EMF’s, energy saving devices, insect sprays, lawn fertilizers, herbicides, body care products, sunscreens, and the list goes on.

Dr. Ardis mentioned that he believes we could realistically be exposed to as many as 5000 chemicals a day! As long as we have these chemicals in our body, parasites have an abundance of food to attract them and support them.

Dr. Bernard Jensen, an expert in colon research and therapy, states that “the average person over 40 years of age has between 5 and 25 pounds of buildup in their colon. . . Parasites of all sizes thrive in this undisposed residue of fecal matter, slowly but surely toxifying the whole body.” (11)

90% of Americans have Parasites

We’re talking about nasty critters like whipworms, tapeworms, roundworms, and toxoplasma.

Gut problems like these are usually the first sign:

  •  Stomach cramps

  •  Vomiting or nausea

  •  Loose stools

But parasites don’t just harm your digestion. If you feel like you are always hungry, always tired, have achy joints, depression, rashes, hives, insomnia or disrupted sleep, itchiness (frequently in the private parts), yeast flare-ups, abdominal pain or cramping, diarrhea, bloating, coughing or wheezing, food allergies, weakness, or dizziness, you may indeed have parasites. (12)

Dr. Peter Wina, chief of patho-biology at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, says, “We have a tremendous parasitic problem right here in the US. It is just not being addressed.” (13)

Joseph Sterling wrote in his newsletter, Secrets of Robust Health, that parasitic infection is common: Humans can play host to over 100 different kinds of parasites, ranging from microscopic to several-feet-long tapeworms. Contrary to popular belief, parasites are not restricted to our colon alone, but can be found in other parts of the body: the lungs, the liver, the muscles and joints, the esophagus, the brain, the blood, the skin, and even in the eyes. (14)

Some common symptoms of parasitic infection are: constipation, gas and bloating, diarrhea, back pain, joint and muscle pain, irritable bowel syndrome, allergies, insatiable hunger, itchy ears, nose, or anus, unpleasant sensations in the stomach, nervousness, grumpiness, chronic fatigue, lethargy or apathy, various skin problems, problems sleeping, nutritional deficiencies or anemia, problems with the immune system, teeth grinding or clenching, weight gain, forgetfulness, dizziness, and blurry vision.

These symptoms are all worth trying to remedy with a simple detoxification cleanse. The most important thing with a good parasite cleanse is that you stick with it as exactly as directed, in order to get rid of all of the egg sacks and the hatched larva that the parasites may have laid in the body.

Whenever there is a full moon, parasite eggs usually hatch. Knowing that, it would be a good idea to start a parasite cleanse during a full moon, and continue your cleanse at least a week or two after a full moon.

Following are some natural ways to help keep your body’s immune system so strong, that it will help prevent parasites.

Use the PCI Wellness Parasite Cleanse Protocol.

Eat raw organic fruits and vegetables

It is especially important to make sure you are eating raw organic fresh fruits and vegetables with your meals, because these contain live enzymes.

Raw plant-based enzymes take apart foreign proteins and expose the hidden parasites, which have cloaked themselves in a protein coating. The immune system cannot see the cloaked parasites, so it doesn’t know that it needs to get rid of them. This is especially true for someone who eats a mostly meat diet. But, when you eat raw, organic vegetables and fruits, the body has a plentiful supply of enzymes that go searching for proteins to eat. It is these enzymes that search the body and find and ingest the protein coating off of the parasites and egg sacks, revealing them to the immune system. The immune system sees the danger and destroys the yeasts, parasites, and any other pathogens.

According to the Britannica, the foods and essential oils of spices and herbs can be used to help remedy a parasitical infestation. (15)

Spices and herbs are “parts of various plants cultivated for their aromatic, pungent, or otherwise desirable substances. Spices and herbs consist of rhizomes, bulbs, fruit, seeds, leaves, barks, flower buds, and stigmas. They are commonly divided into the categories of spices, spice seeds, and herbs. (16) Garlic

Garlic, throughout history, has been used to treat many health challenges, including viruses, fungi, bacteria, parasites, and cancer. It is a powerful food. It can even chelate (remove) heavy metals from the body. Ingesting garlic can also be a way to prevent mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas from wanting to bite you. (17)

Black Walnut-Nuts & Hull

The nuts and green hulls of black walnut (Juglans nigra) are a favorite of holistic health herbalists because of their ability to cleanse the blood and the intestines. Black walnut hull is used to cure fungal infections. The juice taken from the green hulls is used to kill parasites. Only green hulls should be used. (18)

Wormwood – (Ivermectin is the pharmaceutical version of Wormwood)

Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is a perennial herb with tiny yellow-green flowers. The leaves and flowers are frequently used as a stomach problem remedy, and are an effective remedy for intestinal worms. It is advised to avoid taking wormwood if you are a nursing woman. Wormwood has powerful antimicrobial attributes, and can be used for many other types of infections. (19)

Cloves

Clove buds are an important herb used in Ayurvedic medicines for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections and for worms. This treatment has been used for thousands of years. Cloves contain a powerful oil (eugenol), which has been researched and found to help in the eradication of many pathogens in the gut, including parasites. Clove oil has been found to dissolve the eggs left behind by worms. It is believed to be the only oil that destroys almost all parasite eggs. Clove is such an incredibly strong broad-spectrum spice/oil/herb because of its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and powerful antimicrobial properties. (20)

Thyme

Thyme is one of the most effective herbs for stimulating the thymus, a major gland of the immune system. Thyme contains natural volatile oils which are known to help strengthen the immune system. The essential oil of thyme can eliminate the growth of many parasites, and it can kill them in the intestinal tract, as well as reduce intestinal cramping. (21)

Oil Of Oregano

Oil of oregano is one of the most powerful essential oils. It is important to buy one that is not diluted down with olive oil or another carrier oil. This oil is extremely powerful in crushing free radicals, and it is antiparasitic, antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal. It is an indiscriminate destroyer of the bad pathogens, and can aid in resetting the microbial environment in the intestines. Many studies show the effectiveness of essential oil of oregano with everything from parasitical infections to cancer. There is a study that shows an Inhibition of enteric parasites by emulsified oil of oregano in vivo. (22)

Diatomaceous Earth

Food grade diatomaceous earth (which is finely crushed sea shells) is what I frequently use for eliminating fleas and ticks in my yard and on my pets. Diatomaceous earth absorbs methyl mercury, E. coli, endotoxins, viruses, organophosphate pesticide residues, and drug residues. Its positive effects include killing intestinal parasites, balancing the intestinal flora, killing viruses, and absorbing toxins. (23) It is highly recommended for intestinal cleanses, but it is a very fine powder, so avoid inhaling it.

Reishi Mushrooms

Reishi mushrooms grow wild on decaying logs and also on trees. Reishi mushrooms have anti-tumor and anti-oxidative properties. They can promote lower blood pressure and lower glucose levels. Reishi mushrooms have been used to successfully treat hepatitis B, glomerulosclerosis, ulcers, and they are also antifungal and antiparasitic.

(24)

Pumpkin Seed

“Pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil are rich in fatty acids, zinc, copper, sterols, anti-inflammatory agents, and amino acids. Pumpkin seeds are used to treat worms, especially tapeworms. Even though it’s not the fastest parasite killer; it works. The recommendation is to eat raw, organic, sprouted pumpkin seeds every day for several weeks.” (25) I freshly grind them up and sprinkle them on my salads, as well as my pet’s food.

Pomegranate Seed

Pomegranate has many health benefits, and for decades the pomegranate seed has been used to treat infections from the most common parasites found in humans: roundworms, pinworms and tapeworms. (26)

Bentonite Clay
Bentonite clay is a volcanic ash containing a multitude of minerals. Historically, Native Americans used it for detoxifying and cleansing their bowels. They called it Ee-Wah-Kee, meaning “the mud that heals.” Bentonite has the ability to bind with toxins, drugs, and heavy metals, and draw them out of the body. Many of those are actually what parasites feed on.

I had a cyst on my wrist, and I didn’t want to have surgery to remove it. I started using bentonite clay on a daily basis with my High-Fiber Cleanse. Within three weeks, the cyst had disappeared. Dr. Merritt said to me that the cyst was probably a parasite egg sack. (27)

Strongly polarized, bentonite clay has a powerful electromagnetic field when hydrated. It can attract and hold on to various forms of radiation, and it has the ability to pick up a great deal more than its own weight in positively charged particles. Dr. Jensen, ND, DC, PhD, suggested using bentonite clay to absorb the radiation in your bones, which are often subjected to radiation through the use of X-rays, computers, television, and radiation treatments for cancer. (28)

The medical community has found bentonite clay to have amazing healing properties. One study by a research duo from Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences found that “Unlike conventional antibiotics routinely administered by injection or pills, the so-called “healing clays” could be applied as rub-on creams or ointments to keep MRSA infections from spreading. . . The clays also show promise against a wide range of other harmful bacteria, including those that cause skin infections and food poisoning. . . Their study, one of the first to explore the antimicrobial activity of natural clays in detail, was presented at the 235th national meeting of the American Chemical Society, the world’s largest scientific society. . .” (29)

In addition to finding that MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) was susceptible to bentonite clays, they found the clays exhibited antimicrobial effects against Mycobacterium ulcerans (which is related to tuberculosis, and results in a flesh-digesting disease) and two causes of food poisoning: E. coli and Salmonella. (30) Arizona State University found that some bentonite clays were contaminated. So, only use food-grade bentonite clay that is specifically labeled safe for internal use. (31) I also recommend using a wood, plastic, ceramic, or glass bowl and spoon when using bentonite clay. Avoid using a metal bowl and spoon, because the metal will react with the clay and reduce most of its healing properties.

Bentonite clay can bind with a lot of various toxins, like mercury, EMF’s, graphene oxide, and even some parasites.

I use food grade for people and pets, because this helps eliminate the food the parasites feed on.

Here is a link for some Food Grade Bentonite Clay Capsules I have recommended to my clients.

Activated Charcoal

Another supplement that can eliminate the toxins that parasites feed on is activated charcoal. Activated charcoal is also wonderful for nausea and diarrhea in people and pets.

Here is a link for one brand that I have used. Wild Activated Charcoal Capsules from 100%  Organic Coconut Shells.

I recommend taking your healthy nutritional supplements in the morning. Then I recommend taking the detox supplements 1 or 2 hours after the evening meal, because we naturally detoxify overnight.

Herbal Remedies

Always use caution when working with herbal remedies, because some of them should not be combined with others. Do your research.

The good news is that any side effects from herbs are less likely to bother you than anything on the warning label of every single pharmaceutical.

In your research, you might ask a knowledgeable herbal practitioner before taking any of the above suggestions, especially if you are pregnant or nursing.

A healthy diet should be followed whenever doing a cleanse, but especially when taking broad-spectrum antimicrobial supplements.

You might weaken some of the beneficial bacteria in your body, and you will want to replenish these, because these beneficial bacteria are what create your immune system.

Here are a few of my favorite parasite remedies.

Iodine Supplementation

Iodine supports our thyroid and is missing from most foods today. It dissipates when it touches oxygen, so white iodized salt is not an effective way to ingest iodine. I read Dr. David Brownstein’s book, “Iodine: Why You Need It, Why You Can’t Live Without It” many years ago. He explains how we need iodine on a regular basis, to be healthy and to have our thyroid function properly.

He says “It is impossible to achieve your optimal health if you do not have adequate iodine levels. He says iodine deficiency can contribute to: breast cancer, fibrocystic breast disease, detoxification, fatigue, Graves’ disease, and Hashimoto’s disease and may be the root cause of thyroid problems including hypothyroidism and thyroid cancer.” (32)

As a Certified International Wildlife Rehabilitator, I know that animals require iodine also. I recommend at least one drop of iodine a day for cats and dogs. I like the Nascent Iodine sold by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger.

What I have learned since then is that iodine is antimicrobial and can disrupt the cellular structure of intestinal parasites. It can also disrupt parasite metabolism, making it more difficult for them to survive. (33)

The bentonite clay, pumpkin seed, moringa leaf powder, and psyllium husk cleanse is one you can make at home.

Moringa leaf powder has a variety of health benefits, from increased wound healing to managing blood glucose. (34). This cleanse can help rid your body of many types of parasites.

I have been doing a cleanse like this for almost 40 years.

Ingredients:

1 tsp. organic psyllium husks

1/8 teaspoon (or less) bentonite clay

1⁄2 tsp. freshly ground, fresh, organic, raw sprouted pumpkin seeds

½ tsp. raw, organic moringa powder

8 oz. purified water

There are various anti-parasite cleanses on the market. My favorite cleanse at the moment, is the one developed by the PCI Wellness. They are generational parasite experts. Their cleanse has more ingredients that can also help rid the body of fungus and bacteria, which can go hand-in-hand with parasites.

When doing the parasite cleanse for the first time, you may need to do it for an entire three months (90 days). I recommend this, because you want to make sure you rid your body of the parasite as it goes through all of the stages of life. You do not want it to re-emerge in the future, which can happen if it is in a stage not addressed by the cleanse.

This parasite cleanse is called the “Freedom Cleanse and Restore” Protocol recommended by Dr. Bryan Ardis.

PranaPets Intestinal Defense Supplement for Dogs & Cats | Naturally Helps Digestive Issues in Pets | Herbal Formula

When my daughter joined the Peace Corps and moved to Mali Africa, she lived in a mud hut with a dirt floor, no modern bathroom, no electricity, no running water, and she had to get her water from a well. She also ate all the food the villagers made her, in order to maintain her friendly relationship with the people. It is a terrible insult in many cultures around the world to turn down a food or drink offering.

While my daughter was living in that tiny rural village, she started feeling ill, and was diagnosed with parasites. She had to do some tough parasite cleanses while she was there, and also when she returned to the US. She is very dedicated to eating healthy and detoxifying on a regular basis, since she is still quite the world traveler and loves nature. In fact, that is my daughter and I swimming in a river in Cambodia in 2014, bathing an elephant in the photo above. She has a love of nature and adventure like I do and we share that love.

Being someone who loves being out in nature, I realize that I have been doing natural parasite protection protocols my whole life and I didn’t even realize it. (The iodine supplementation that I have been doing for around 25 years is one of them.) When our immune system is strong and we are eating nutrient-rich fresh fruits and vegetables, then our body can be strong enough to defend itself against these types of organisms. But when we are ingesting processed, low nutrient-dense foods, microwaved or irradiated foods, or chemicals and toxins, and municipal tap water, these can contribute to a weakened immune system, and our defenses that keep us well begin to get broken down.

Adding some of the healthy, antioxidant-rich foods, with a high pH, is a way one can boost the body’s immune system, detoxify the body from acids and toxins, and boost overall health.

Adding healthy, organic spices, herbs, mushrooms, barks, minerals, and essential oils and other natural remedies is such an easy way to prevent parasites from proliferating or thriving in the body.

I believe at this point in time that it is even more important to be aware of the fact that parasites can be a real problem in health challenges today. Therefore, cleansing our body of parasitical infections is paramount. Whether you believe you might have parasites or not, I believe that what we ingest directly impacts our health. Because of this, I strongly recommend that avoid refined foods, sugar, artificial additives and sweeteners, junk food, microwaved foods and liquids, municipal tap water, irradiated foods and liquids, and all GMO food is a great way to start. I simply avoid buying those foods and I find other ways to eat delicious foods that are organic healthy, fresh, and in their most natural form.

One thing that I have believed in for a very long time is that “food is our medicine” and what we ingest becomes our cells, tissue, and blood, and thus directly impacts our health.

My closing thought is that I want to make you more aware of the prevalence of parasites in our bodies today.

Please research the various cleanses and choose the one that best suits you.

Adding more healthy foods and liquids to your diet could improve your immune system, raise your pH, naturally prevent parasites, and contribute to optimum health.

Education is power.

Stay enlightened and I encourage you to live your life to the fullest!
